Fees, funding and bursaries
Many of our programmes are generously supported by a range of funding partners, whose bursaries help address financial barriers to the vital leadership development opportunities we provide for cultural sector leaders.
Many of our funding and bursaries target underrepresented groups, but we offer some to those working in areas of specialism or geographical areas.
All bursary/funded places are highly competitive and you should ensure you check your eligibility for any funding and/or bursary places you wish to apply for before making your application.
Please contact us should you wish to discuss our funding and bursaries further.

Available bursaries / funding
Available bursaries and funding opportunities differ from programme to programme and from round to round It is important to read all of the programme information carefully and the eligibility criteria before applying.
You can find out more about what funding/bursaries are available for each programme on their designated page.
Accessing a bursary or funded support for a programme, how it works
For most of our programmes, you will be asked to tell us as part of the application process how you meet the criteria and how you can evidence a strong case for support. We would encourage all applicants to read to the eligibility criteria carefully, as this differs for each funding opportunity.
The funding or bursary can also cover different aspects of the programme, some are fully funded and others only cover part of the programme with some exceptions. You can find out more aout what is covered on specific programme pages.
The cost of Fellowships are fully funded, with the exception of self or employer funded Fellowships, and you will be able to apply for up to two types of Fellowship as part of the application process. In most cases the funding partners will be on the interview panel should you be successful in being offered an interview.
For other programmes, places might be part-subsidised or fully covered by a funding partner, which doesn’t require any additional evidence from the applicant. This will clearly be stated at point of application or booking.
Your place is not confirmed until you have received email acceptance from Clore Leadership. Should you be offered a funded place or bursary, this will be confirmed alongside your programme place along with next steps.
Eligibility
As most of our funding opportunities are targeted to underrepresented groups, as well as those working in areas of specialism or geographic focus, they will each come with their own set of eligibility criteria that will be explained at the point of application.
As all bursary and funded places are highly competitive, you should ensure you check your eligibility for any bursary you wish to apply for before making your application as failure to meet the criteria may mean you are unsuccessful for a place.
If you would like to discuss any part of the bursary or funding criteria further, you are able to contact a member of the team by email. Contact details for each programme are available on our programme webpages.
Can I fund my own place on a course or use funding awarded from a different funder?
For some programmes you are able to self-fund or seek external support. You would need to confirm that you have the relevant funding in place when you accept your programme place.
For our Fellowship programme, some spaces are usually made available to self-funded or employer-funded applicants.
Some funders are also open to applications from individuals who wish to seek support for their career development (for example, Creative Scotland’s Open Fund, and Arts Council Wales’ Creative Steps fund. Please note that securing funding from an external funder does not guarantee a place on one of our application-based programmes and you will need to fill in the relevant application forms and will be subject to the same selection process as other applicants.
If you wish to discuss the costs and process for self-funding, employer-funding or funding from an external funder further you can contact us when you make your application.
