Tonya Nelson

University College London, Head of Museums & Collections

Tonya Nelson is Manager of University College London's Petrie Museum of Egyptian Archaeology where she is responsible planning, strategy and finance.

Prior to this, she was Head of Governance and Planning at London Transport Museum.  She has been a British Council Cultural Leadership International (CLI) Fellow and is currently Acting Director of the British Council’s new international training academy for museum professionals. Tonya joined the cultural sector after working as a lawyer and management consultant in the United States. She holds a B.A. degree in Public Policy, M.A degree in History of Art and a J.D. degree in Law.
