Brilliant Routes sessions are monthly events to share strategies and learnings from Black, Asian and Ethnically Diverse leaders.
Influencing from the inside requires skill, deftness, tenacity and resilience and the ability to envision the legions of small steps needed to make incremental shifts towards change. This session will explore how to acutely assess the many possible routes to change and then how to guide an organisation along them.
We will be hearing from Clore Leadership Director Hilary Carty and EMMY-winning and BAFTA-nominated television producer and director and Chair of BAFTA Krishnendu Majumdar.
The Speakers
From being one of the few directors of the Arts Council, to establishing the Cultural Leadership programme and now to Director of Clore, Hilary has changed the face of cultural leadership from the inside. Hilary is well respected for her skill to be guided by values while nursing change through.
Chair of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA), Krishnendu is the first person of colour to be appointed to the role in BAFTA’s 73 year history and the youngest chair in 35 years. He has been Deputy Chair for one year and his tenure as Chair will run for the next three years - the newly extended term for all future BAFTA chairs.
Krishnendu is an EMMY-winning and BAFTA-nominated television producer and director. He has been closely involved with BAFTA for 14 years, having been the Chair of the Learning and New Talent Committee (2006-2010), the Chair of the Television Committee (2015-2019) and a member of the Board of Trustees for nine years. Krish has taken on the unenviable task of turning round BAFTA after the exclusionary awards have hit the news.
