I currently Work as Assistant Rroducer at Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester, where I previously worked as Marketing & Communications Assistant. I have gained knowledge through a variety of courses such as Leaders of Tomorrow - a nationwide course training in administration, governance, and financial management for growing organizations; Manchester International Festival - creative fellowship - partaking in rehearsal, from a stage management perspective, in Akram Khan's Giselle with the English National Ballet. I trained in acting at the Brit school and the Arden school of theatre. Credits include: The Hidden Pin-up (Home, Manchester); Troubling Anti Trafficking Imagery (Festival of the Mind); Billy The Kid (Leicester Curve); Harlan Coben's The 5 (Red Picture Company/ Sky One); Nothing(Royal Exchange Theatre – which won a Manchester Theatre Award 2016).
As a Stage Manager, my credits include: 15 Minutes (Contact Theatre); The Trial (Summerhall, Edinburgh/ Hope Mill Theatre); Brink (Royal Exchange Theatre). I trained in Stage Management with Royal Exchange Theatre Young Company.
Something that matters most to me is opening up means of communication and bridging understanding between people, through theatre and film. I think storytelling through images is a strong way of conveying important messages.
It is important to foster confidence within people and push forward with projects, supporting to the finish. There could be world altering perspectives that would come from a scattered or timid mind, but with patience, can be shared rather than overlooked.
Something that Inspires me are the conversations I've had with friends met by accident through a mutual love for the arts. I grow as a person through the alternative perspectives they offer and challenge me with by generously offering me their experiences that are completely outside of my own. There are times when I see myself in them and this gives me greater awareness of how to navigate through business in life.
