Sushma Jansari

Dr Sushma Jansari is Tabor Foundation Curator: South Asia at the British Museum. Sushma researches ancient South Asia, while also examining how this antiquity was received and (re)constructed in India and Europe over the last two centuries. Recently, Sushma curated ancient and medieval South Asia in the Sir Joseph Hotung Gallery for China at the British Museum (opened 2017) and is Lead Curator for the Manchester Museum South Asia Gallery in partnership with the British Museum (opening 2022). Sushma has recently developed a new podcast series - The Wonder House - that shares some of the most innovative contemporary approaches to decolonising museums so that we are all empowered and inspired to learn and experiment.
