Catherine Eagleton

Catherine Eagleton is Director of Museums at the University of St Andrews, where she is leading a a multi-year reimagination of the University's museums, beginning with a major capital project to extend and redisplay the Wardlaw Museum.

Before taking up her current role, she was Associate Director, Curatorial Affairs, at the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History, in Washington DC, USA, with responsibility for the curatorial and collections-related work of the museum, and leadership of a team of more than 130 curators, historians, collections managers and conservators.

Prior to that, she was Head of Asian and African Collections at the British Library, where she worked on international partnerships and digital and digitisation projects. She has also worked on exhibitions and research projects as Curator of Modern Money at the British Museum, and began her career at the Science Museum, London, and the Whipple Museum of the History of Science, University of Cambridge.
