Mr Youssef Shazli

Born and raised in Cairo, Youssef Shazli studied International Development at McGill University. He joined Misr International Films (MIF) in 2013 working on the Panorama of the European Film. In 2014, he co-founded and became the managing director of Zawya Cinema & Distribution, a company which operates Egypt's only fully operational arthouse cinema and distributes arthouse films locally and abroad. Youssef has given several talks and workshops on alternative film exhibition and distribution in the Arab world and has worked as a reader and juror for several film projects. Aside from his work at Zawya, Youssef occasionally works as a music programmer.
