Kathleen is singer, songwriter, researcher and lecturer at the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance at the University of Limerick, Ireland. Prior to this appointment in 2015, she worked as Community Engagement Manager with the Irish Chamber Orchestra and as a Community Musician. She has a number of community roles, including serving on the Committee for Non-Mainstream Department of Education and Skills funded Music Education.
My year as a #Clore14 fellow was deeply impactful - it gave me an international network of friends and colleagues, a deep well of experiences to draw from in my professional and personal life, and multiple learning opportunities that are continually adding to my work. I'm so grateful for my Clore fellowship.
Since returning to my role at the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance I have implemented a number of changes to my day to day work - these include curriculum development, contributing to our ongoing conversation regarding diversity and equality, developing new community connections and creating new musical work. I am contributing to international community music and arts practice research and I am liaising with a number of institutions world-wide regarding new partnerships.
