Dylan is commissioning executive for podcasts at BBC Sounds in the BBC’s Radio & Music division. His role has particular responsibility leading on flagship ‘big tent’ projects for Sounds, developing exciting new internal and external partnerships and securing the very best podcasting talent for the Sounds platform. Prior to this he was a founding team member and produced and commissioned thought-provoking digital video content for BBC Ideas. BBC Ideas was winner at the 23rd Webby Awards for Best Public Service/Activism in the Video channel/series category.
He is currently a trustee of Rich Mix, east London’s arts centre, and of the Festival of Writing & Ideas at Borris in Ireland. He is also a member of Science Gallery’s ‘Leonardo advisory group’, the Culture Advisory Board of the London Irish Centre and is a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
From 2009-17, Dylan served on the board of Project Arts Centre, Ireland's national centre for the presentation of contemporary art. In 2011, while still a student, he stood for parliament in Ireland in a campaign praised for its use of social media to engage with younger voters.
Dylan co-hosts the podcast and live event series Soundings with musician Lisa Hannigan and for five years worked with Other Voices festival, presenting interviews with artists for The Guardian.com and building new partnerships with Electric Picnic and Latitude festivals.
He has presented and reported on music, arts and history programmes for RTÉ and in 2015 wrote and produced a feature documentary for RTE Radio 1’s Documentary on One strand.
