Tom Harvey

Tom is a writer/producer working across film, television and theatre.

Tom studied film and television at the LCP and his early career was working as an assistant director and production manager. Tom worked in small and large media organisations, including the BBC, commissioning for BBC2 and managing the Independent Commissioning Group, as a producer at Marvellous Pictures, as MD of the Edinburgh Television Festival and as CEO of media investment fund Northern Film & Media.

Tom Executive Produced five feature films and has produced numerous music videos. Tom’s plays have been performed throughout London. Tom also wrote book and lyrics for the musical LYDIA, currently under option to Freemantle owned Fontoram in Paris. Tom is a past BAFTA winner, alongside Tim Wright and Rob Bevan, for interactive drama ONLINE CAROLINE.

Tom is a Clore Leadership Fellow and graduate of Harvard Business School’s short course in Private Equity and Venture Capital. Tom has served on the Boards of IPPR North, Culture North East and the music accelerator Generator. He is currently a Trustee of The Hospital Club Foundation.

In the 2012 New Year Honours Tom was awarded an MBE for services to the creative industries.

Tom is a Trustee of the Peter Marlow Foundation and Chairs hip hop dance theatre company BirdGang.
