Welcome to the Application for the Chair/CEO Days.
Autumn 2019, London and Bristol
We are currently accepting applications for our upcoming series of training days for Chairs and CEOs/Artistic Directors coming as a pair, which will be held in London on Tuesday 10th September and in Bristol on Thursday 17th October.
There are places for ten organisations available at each event. Organisations will be selected on the merit of their applications and every effort will be taken to ensure a good mix of experience, art form and regional representation.
How you learn
"Really valuable. Focussed and brought out great participation" (Chair)
The training is very practical and break-out groups are encouraged to identify action points. The training covers issues such as:
• artistic risk;
• financial information;
• legal responsibilities;
• strategic planning;
• succession planning.
The programme for each day will be led by Clore Leadership Governance Associates Prue Skene and Tom Wilcox.
What difference will the course make to you?
"Wonderful to be in a room with people in a similar place – very useful" (CEO)
Expected outcomes for participants will be as follows:
• An understanding of how to strengthen their relationship and provide mutual support
• A firm grounding in the principles and legal requirements of governance
• Addressing of specific issues connected with their organisation
• An opportunity to work together as a team away from normal Board business
• A practical action which they will use to strengthen governance in their organisation
"A very well facilitated day with a good mix of expertise and input that has set the platform for the future" (CEO)
