Carol Lake


In a career of over three decades, Carol has held senior positions in a number of major corporations including British Telecom, Cable & Wireless and J.P. Morgan. As Managing Director for Corporate Responsibility for International Markets at J.P. Morgan Carol strives to embed corporate responsibility into everyday behaviour of the 80,000 staff that the firm employs beyond North America.

Carol has extensive experience in leading and managing grant-makers and is a member of the Operating Committee of the JPMorgan Chase Foundation. She has broad experience of supporting the arts with an emphasis on initiatives aimed to build new and more diverse audiences and to leverage the impact of the arts to create social capital for marginalised communities.

She has been a Governor of UCL and an Advisory Council member of The Sutton Trust, IntoUniversity and is a RSA Fellow. Carol is a passionate supporter of the arts. She has held board positions at the Almeida Theatre, the Young Vic, Sadler’s Wells and was Chair of Theatre Royal Stratford East. She has twice been recognised on the PowerList Top 100 and as one of the Top 100 BAME Leaders in Business. In 2016 she was recognised as Leader of the Year, Financial Services at the Black British Business Awards.
