Head of Strategic Partnerships and Impact
Clore Leadership was launched in 2003 by the Clore Duffield Foundation, to support and provide the professional development required to sustain the UK’s great cultural institutions, and international reputation for artistic excellence and innovation.
In the sixteen years since, the programme has succeeded in creating a sought-after cadre of creative and cultural leaders, and inspired investment in leadership on the part of governments, agencies, foundations and charities both nationally and internationally. It was and remains an exemplary intervention in our sector – Clore Leaders, some 2,220 alumni, are thriving and the investment in them is reaping significant rewards.
Our vision is for a society enriched by arts, culture and creativity, and Clore Leadership’s role is to cultivate excellence and innovation in the leadership of culture to help us get there.
One of the strengths of Clore Leadership has been its ability to flex and design the programme in response to the needs of the sector; the world has changed and the demands on cultural leaders today are also notably altered. With a significant award from Arts Council England’s Transforming Leadership Fund and the support of a wide range of other funders, we enter an exciting new phase, building on our successes in learning and professional development to innovate and extend our reach.
Our new strategy sees us responding to the demands for cultural leadership in the 21st century, and our new post of Head of Strategic Partnerships and Impact will play a key role in achieving these ambitions. Working closely with the Director, the Head of Strategic Partnerships and Impact will lead the management of stakeholder relationships and fundraising, paying attention to demonstrating the value and relevance of Clore Leadership and its outcomes. To do this, they will commission and manage a portfolio of research and evaluation, harnessing the evidence to demonstrate impact and generate learning.
Candidates should possess experience of successful partnership-working with a wide range of stakeholders; a proven track record of fundraising in the cultural/third sector; and ideally, experience of strategic commissioning and/or transferable research and evaluation expertise.

The Head of Programmes be responsible for the design, delivery and innovation across our flagship Fellowship programme, intensive courses and new content, all the time addressing the learning priorities and outcomes required by cultural leaders.
Candidates will bring significant experience of the design and development of contemporary leadership training programmes, alongside comprehensive knowledge of the leadership development needs of the UK cultural sector, and a passionate ambition to make a lasting positive contribution to its development.
