2010/11 International Scholarships on the Clore Leadership Programme

2008/09 Chevening Scholar on the Clore Leadership Programme
Each year the Clore Leadership Programme offers a number of International Scholarships to exceptional individuals from outside the UK. These are currently funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office through the British Council and the Home Affairs Bureau of the Government of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, through the Hong Kong Arts Development Council. Applications are by nomination only.
In 2010/11, the Clore Leadership Programme is currently inviting nominations for up to three Chevening Scholarships from outstanding potential cultural leaders from China, India, Egypt and Jordan and up to two Hong Kong Scholarships from Hong Kong.
Each Scholar will benefit from an individually tailored programme, based in the UK over a period of one year. Starting in September 2010, this will include:
- Attendance at two intensive residential leadership courses alongside the Clore Fellows on 13 to 24 September 2010 and 27 June to 7 July 2011
- A period of secondment for approximately two months at a cultural institution
- Participation in courses and conferences
- Time for reflection, research and debate
- A bursary of up to £14,000 to cover the costs relating to the Scholarship including course and conference fees, travel, accommodation, subsistence, and training and development.
Chevening Scholarships
With support from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office through the British Council, the Clore Leadership Programme enables up to three Chevening Scholars a year to join the group of Clore Fellows for two residential leadership courses and to follow a development programme tailored to their individual needs, which will normally include a short secondment with a cultural organisation in the UK, tuition at business schools and attendance at conferences.
Application for the Chevening Scholarships is by nomination by the British Embassy / High Commission only. Each region may nominate up to a maximum of 3 individuals. The closing date for nominations is 12 April 2010.
Hong Kong Scholarship/s
In 2010/11 with support from the Home Affairs Bureau of the Government of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, through the Hong Kong Arts Development Council, the Clore Leadership Programme will enable up to two Hong Kong Scholars to join the group of Clore Fellows for two residential leadership courses and to follow a development programme tailored to their individual needs, which will normally include a short secondment with a cultural organisation in the UK, tuition at business schools and attendance at conferences.
Application for the Hong Kong Scholarship/s is by nomination by the Hong Kong Arts Development Council only.
