Applications are
now closed for a new programme of governance development work with Boards
of Trustees in arts organisations and museums across the UK.
Applications are now closed.
Sitting alongside
the existing Clore Fellowships and Short Courses, this new programme is
funded by the Cultural Leadership Programme.
The new programme
offers an organisation the opportunity for the whole Board, together with
the senior executive team, to spend a day discussing and considering how
they are operating as a Board, how their relationship with the Executive
has developed, how they are tackling issues such as recruitment,
succession planning, diversity, financial information and analysis, legal responsibilities, and
strategic planning.
To each of the twelve
organisations whose applications are successful, we will be offering a
one-day session between May 2007 and April 2008. The programme will cater for a
range of organisations of different sizes and from different art forms and
locations. It is particularly suitable for independent organisations with charitable
status. Organisations directly run by local authorities are not eligible
to apply.
The content of each
day will be focused very much on the individual organisation, but will
also draw on wider governance principles. The session can be held either on a weekday or at a weekend: the
specific date will be individually agreed with the selected organisations.
A representative of
the Clore Leadership Programme will meet with the Chair and Chief
Executive beforehand to plan the day in detail.
Please choose from the menu on the
right to learn more about the Governance Programme and for details of how to apply.
